Command Joy Challenge! It's Labor Day Love

It’s Labor Day weekend! I love holiday weekends and the beginning of new months because it is a great time to hit the re-set button! As we say good bye to Summer and hello to Fall, it’s time to  kick off (not just football!) the things we are grateful for and kick out those negative thoughts and feelings we’ve been holding onto all summer long.

As part of our Command Joy Challenger Series, let’s kick off this month with a Command Joy Challenge. Every morning for the next month, before you even open your eyes after your beauty sleep, I Command Joy Challenge you to think of FIVE things that you feel overwhelmingly grateful for…and really feel the feelings of gratitude.

As an example, today before I opened my sleepy eyes, I thought about the 5 things I am grateful for:
  1. My Legs - thank you, healthy legs, for you allow me to exercise and dance around crazily (while blaring out to Beyonce) and get me from point A to point B
  2. Having a Home – thank you house for keeping me protected from the outside elements, safe from the wind and the rain, and for providing me with electricity and a nice retreat from the outside
  3. Ability to Learn– thank you life lessons, for showing me that in every heartache, triumph, or tear…that there is a lesson to learn and one which I can teach to someone else
  4. Listening to Music – thank you music, for always being there when I am going through some tough emotions – whether I am angry, sad, happy, or jealous – there is a song out there that lets me get in touch with my soul and brings me closer to my purpose in life
  5. Long Weekends – thank you,  holiday weekend, for giving me the opportunity to sit back, relax, and realize that this world is constantly supporting my every move, and is always there for me
